On a cold March day, the Hartford Wanderers traveled to Randall’s Island, NYC to compete for the first time in a long time , if ever, in the 4-Leafs 15’s Rugby Tournament. Bracket play started with the HWRFC taking on the Hudson Valley Rebels and the Gotham Nights. Despite slow starts in the 1st half of both these matches, the HWRFC found their stride in the 2nd half and won both matches handily giving up only one try combined while touching down seven of their own. The semi-final match found the HWRFC taking on Buffalo RFC. Although playing a stronger team than during bracket play, the HWRFC once again through balanced attacks with the forwards and backs and strong defense were able to top Buffalo (22-5). The Finals match found the Club pitted against NERFU foe, Newport RFC. Despite giving up the first score, HWRFC maintained their composure and professionalism throughout and came away with the Men’s Social Division Championship (12-5). This win made standing in the cold all day well worth it.

Congratulations and thanks to all that traveled down, as it was through a true team effort that the Hartford Wanderers came away with the trophy.
